        在鋁合金固熔爐的固溶過程中的冷卻速度主要是指一定要保證飽和固溶體在被固定下來的時候不會被分解掉,要避免強化相析出,還要降低淬火時效的一個力學性能,所以在淬火的時候,其冷卻速度是越快越好。但是當冷卻的速度增大的時候,淬火工件的殘余變形以及殘余應力也會相應的增大,所以冷卻的速度要根據不同的形狀、尺寸以及合金的工件來確定。
        一般情況下,合金的淬火對于冷卻的速度是比較敏感的,所以可以選擇的冷卻速度要比較大。尺寸和形狀不同的工件要選擇不同的冷卻速度,一般情況下,可以根據調整淬火介質的溫度來實現。對于一些中小型,或者是形狀比較簡單的被處理工件來說,可以選擇室溫水淬火;對于形狀復雜以及壁厚的差別比較大的型材,可以選擇中等溫度的水淬火。而對于一些比較容易出現變形的工件來說,可以把水溫調節到比較高的溫度進行淬火。
